The Baxter State Park Headquarters in Millinocket will be closed to the public from 5/04 - 5/14 for a training event. The reservations phone line will still be open during this time.
No camping is permitted in the Park until the summer camping season begins on 5/15. Camping is permitted in BSP by reservation only.
Please monitor our Today’s Condition’s page for updates (high elevation trails usually open late May, early June). Trail closures protect the sensitive alpine environment during freeze-thaw cycles.
The Reservations Line and Park Headquarters in Millinocket will be closed on Monday, 4/20, in observance of Patriot’s Day.

On Friday, April 3, the Reservations Office will open at 11 am. Normal phone services will be available immediately thereafter.
Due to inclement weather, the reservations line and Baxter State Park headquarters in Millinocket will have a delayed opening on Wednesday, 4/01/26. We expect to open by 10 a.m.

Meet at Park Headquarters in Millinocket at 9 a.m. Join us to help clean the roadside from Millinocket to Togue Pond Gate! A BBQ follows at noon. Don’t forget to complete the volunteer application form first.
The Park Tote Road is closed to snowmobiles for the season (effective 3/16/2026). This measure prevents damage to paths and surrounding greenery.
